I got an email today with a picture of this:
Someone sent me this image by email
It’s Naomi Campbell at a fashion photo shoot. Her wardrobe stylist was futzing with her outfit, and when she slung her “hair” back it revealed a huge bald spot. This isn’t the first image of Naomi with balding edges. She’s had them for several years. When I googled something pertaining to her hairline, I was met with a barrage [...]

Okay, I am officially out of the 18-35 year old category. I’m almost 41 years old, however I just left that category somewhere between last year’s BET awards and this year’s BET award. What evidence do I have? Well, I was totally clueless last night.
I barely recognized those mofos anyone performing. Well, I am exaggerating a bit, I did recognize some of them.
I recognized Deniece Williams. She sang Silly with Monica, and she [...]

I love this time of year because I have some wonderful men who love me in my life. I usually replay in my mind all the special moments spent with my father, uncles, grandfathers, step-father, brothers and husband. Although many of them have had some serious short-comings that other women who have passed them in life would love to list, I am so very appreciative of how they have loved me.
Every since I can remember [...]

Well today is the new moon of June, and I trimmed the hair of myself and my daughters.
Here's what I sacrificed to the Hair Gods. It doesn't compare to what they do in India
As I mentioned back in December, I have decided to grow my hair long.
Here’s where I started:
This is where I started in January
I am really serious about it. I co-wash my hair often. I deep condition with things like [...]

I produced a photo shoot last week for an ad we developed. Photo shoots are the most exciting and many times the most annoying part of my job. We work together as a team in a very short period of time and in a very high pressured atmosphere to create commercial imagery. If it’s a video shoot, we do the same thing. However, the product is footage to be edited into a commercial.
My job [...]

but I haven’t been able to. I’ve had a rough rough week. We lost someone very important to our family. I’ve decided to let a whole tribe of individuals go out of my life, and I saw something that I prepared for a while slip away on a silly mistake. It’s been a sad time for me, but I cannot cry. I want to design to let the sadness out that way, but I [...]

I haven’t been around the bloggyworld, the Facebooksphere, or the Twitterverse lately because I’ve been working like crazy. Not jewelry designing (though I sooo wish it were), but advertising design work. We are in the midst of planning a four-prong campaign that involves a bunch of negotiating, planning, coordinating, and running around like a chicken with my head cut-off. When it’s all said and done I will have had to negotiate with about 50 or [...]

We gained Barack Hussein Obama as President and a beautiful First Family – It was a cold, proud, historic, and awe-inspiring day and I was there!
We lost Michael Joseph Jackson, a legendary performer and philanthropist – Still not right about this. I sometimes well up when I hear one of his songs. I’m really intrigued watching the reality show with his brothers. I wonder what the dynamic was like with him in the brotherly mix [...]

I saw a few people on facebook today saying that they were going out to the sales, although they didn’t have any money to spend. I’m not going out to join in on the hoopla, but I have been browsing Etsy online. I found some wonderful handmade items that I’d like to show. The great thing about etsy is that many of the unique items are very affordable as well. If you are looking for [...]
